Beauty retouching

What can beauty retouch in Photoshop? In the magazines you can always see such great glossy photos with the greatest people. But do they really look that way?

I think only in the rarest cases. Here I have brought 3 pictures and posted on the net that you can really see what is possible with image editing on humans.

As an example, of course, had to hold my wife again.

The first image is the raw data file without the image having passed through a photo engine. The picture next to it after editing with Photoshop and after beauty retouching. I deliberately made it very blatant.

Is quite a stark difference to see. Now I put it on top and let the last picture go through a Portrais program. You can do it that way, but you can do it with Gaussian Blur.

Flashair memory card with WIFI

SD card change overfoot.

What always annoyed me was that you had to fumble the Speidcherkarten from the camera to get the data on the PC. Or you had to use a USB cable for transmission. Remedy over Flashair is there a great thing.

flashair

What is Flashair? This is answered quickly, an SD memory card with either 16GB, -32GB or 64GB memory with built-in WIFI antenna.

When I saw that, it seemed like a solution for me. But the older Nikons have CompactFlash memory cards, so still had a CF-SD card adapter ago. Since I was quickly found on Amazon. My choice a lot on this adapter.

 adapter

For my FujiFilm FinePix S5 pro. I thought buy only a small memory card 16 GB should be enough. That's enough for more than 500 images as RAW data files and the corresponding jpg file. So both ordered fixed at Amazon. 3 days later, both arrived by mail. Since I was terribly curious, I first tried to get it started.

To properly initialize the card you need the Flashairtool and if necessary the update. So I downloaded both at Toshiba the Flashairtool installed on the PC and run the update over it. So the software was up to date. The Flashairkarte to configure so that they communicated with the tab or the phone was easy. So you could load and view the image data from the camera via mobile phone.

But that was not what I wanted. I wanted to access the network via a drive, and that was exactly what it was all about. I tried back and forth, it just did not work. To be able to do that, unfortunately, you have to do without my knowledge on the features with mobile phone or tab. I do not need that either. How do you get the card now that they log into the home network so the router.

The following steps are necessary.

1. Set the power saving time of the camera from a few seconds to 10min. If you do not change the time, it does not work.

2. If the settings were made with the Flashairtool, rewrite the configuration manually. I have the org. Config file in _old renamed so that I can retour again and again with the changes saved. This works with a normal editor.

Important: Save without extension!

org. Config file after setup with the tool: so you have to adjust it for you

2. The card is then assigned an IP via DHCP (must be enabled on the router) from the router. You can look it up in the router and tell him that he should always use this IP address for this card. Now you can easily install the card as a drive or disk via Webdav (add network drive).

Tip: after using the Flashairdrive demount the drive, otherwise it can lead to longer waiting times for the drive is still mounted but no longer exists (camera off). Because the PC then looks for the drive to possibly save something there. Since the drive is not there but you have to wait until the timeout.

On the map you can also access via Bowser by simply typing in the IP number there can be configuration points change.

!!! Attention: Do not format the card after customization otherwise you will lose your settings !!!

Now that everything was working (I had tested everything in the card reader which was right next to the Kammera) I noticed as soon as the card in the adapter and in the camera, the wireless connection deteriorates drastically. When the USB card reader is accessed via network, all the lamps are lit up and the transmission speed is set to 92Mbit. In the camera only one light and data flows as good as nothing.

So come back Card in and out.

Conclusion: thrown money out the window for me.

Beginners tip for the small purse

Everyone knows that the photo equipment is not cheap.

But it does not necessarily always have to be the newest and it may also be needed if things are alright. Decisive is the optics in relation to the triggering.

If a DSLR has already over 30-40,000 releases and the body seems almost as new, you can assume that it was ever to overhaul by the manufacturer.

The fewer shots and cleaner the body the better. Basically, if a DSLR has around 10 MPX for normal use, it will be completely like the one of e.g. with a Nikon D200 is the case. If already something clever here is recommended by Nikon the semi professional line so D100, -D200, -D300 and the D300s.

I would not take the D100 but it has enough pixels but with enlarged image sections, one quickly reaches the limit if one assumes a good quality of the images.

From D300, the whole story is a bit more expensive. A good choice here is the D200. In good used condition you should be able to get it for 100 - 150 euros without lens. I myself have finally bought for my godchild one for 90 euros. (As of 10/2018).

The D200 comes as I said from the semi prof. Line from Nikon that means magnesium casing and water protected. Also it can open the old rod drive for the old AF lenses yet what the world to cheap old used AF lenses. I'm talking about AF lenses without a built-in AF drive.

d200web

If I assume you want to first scan something in all areas comes then always on it only lens 18-200 VR in question. That's enough for a start and not so expensive. Of course, third-party vendors like Tamron are also working. Personally, I prefer the org. Nikon lens a Tamron 18-270 VC ago. Used is the Nikon Nikkor AF-S DX VR 18-200mm F / 3.5-5.6 G IF-ED about 230 euros. (As of 10/2018)

Now I come to another DSLR camera. You should not forget them here.
It is the Fujifilm Fine Pix S5 Pro with 12.3 MP. It's a Nikon D200 case but it has a slightly different electronics and another image sensor. With this sensor it is superior to the Nikon D200 in terms of indoor and portrait. This camera is still popular with photo enthusiasts today. The good thing about the camera is that it has a Nikon F-mount that means all F lenses can be attached to the camera. Whether Nikon or third party. Check it out and google Fine Pix 5s Pro vs. Nikon D200. You will be amazed.

Since the camera is still quite in demand because of their Senso fantasy prices are often required for so from 300 euros. but with the sum I'm already in the range of a D300s and that is the Fine Pix 5s Pro superior. You should get them around 200 euros that would be an adequate price. (As of 10.2018)

ffpix5s

All in all, you should be able to get quite a good beginner equipment consisting of camera and lens in a price range between 400 and 500 euros. For comparison, the current Nikon D500 is about 1600 euros only the body.

In order to take this proof now I have searched out some old pictures. They were all created with a Nikon D70s in collaboration with a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f / 2.8E FL ED VR lens at open aperture so 2.8. Take a look at the corresponding Zoo Slider in my blog (here a new window with the Zooslider will be opened). The old D70s has only 6 MP, a used Nikon D200, however, with 10.2 MP almost double the megapixels. For the fun and also for the first photo works this is enough on a tight budget.
